A telecommunications network operator and value-added reseller based in Lagos, Nigeria, intends to deploy affordable high-speed internet connectivity and sell cloud productivity services in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. This operator has been in business for seven years and has successfully deployed broadband service and information technology solutions in Lagos, and is now interested in assessing the feasibility of extending and scaling its services to a subset of underserved communities in the Niger Delta Region.

The total population of the Niger Delta region is estimated to be around 30M people, which represents about 15% of the total Nigerian population (206M).  of which the total population of the Project area is approximately 8M people. Within these cities, the network operator intends to deploy a network comprised of approximately 550 tower locations with US-manufactured fixed wireless last mile access equipment capable of serving approximately 800,000 subscribers with services as low as $6 per month.

As part of the Feasibility Study to understand whether this broader deployment would be successful, the Vernonburg Group is providing support on human resources review, legal and regulatory review, marketing materials, technical assessment, and financing and economic analyses, which will help the network operator to address and mitigate any challenges prior to broader deployment.
